Sometimes you just don’t want to open up your email, and who can blame you? With all of the lists & deals we sign up for its hard to keep our email inboxes under control. Try these 5 Email Apps to Improve Productivity & Manage Email Mountain:
1. Boomerang
Boomerang is a great extension that schedules your email to be sent later and enables easy email reminders. This extension also lets you set up recurring messages for those recipients who don’t reply as fast as they should when it comes to deadlines or meetings. I like to use it to remind my team to review the new design changes for our projects before they’re sent off to clients for approval.
2. PhilterIt
PhilterIt categorizes your emails under personal contacts & brand icons to easily show you how many emails you have from each contact. It has a clean interface that is a cross between web 2.0 and current mobile design standards. You can find important messages quickly with one click and automatically filter thousands of brands. Select the brands & contacts that are priorities and let PhilterIt do its magic! This app is available for iPhone but not Android. But don’t feel left out if you’re an Android user, the website interface looks beautiful and works amazingly on smartphones & tablets.
3. Rapportive
Ever wonder what your email recipient has been up to? Or have you ever been stuck with nothing to say when you open up your email to compose a message to an old friend or someone new that you’re reaching out to? Rapportive gives you a side by side view of the message you’re composing & a quick profile overview on your recipient (or sender). Quickly hover over their social media icons to find their latest tweet or update. You can even hover over the mail icon in their quick profile and see recent message subjects from them. The best thing about this app is that you have all of their most recent updates right at your finger tips so you can keep in the know and make the message more personal.
4. Fluent
Fluent turns your email into the all familar social media newsfeed stream and allows for quick replies much like Twitter, Facebook, Google+ & LinkedIn does. You are also able to search your email with “as-you-type” results and one click filtering. The best thing about this app is that you don’t have to sign into multiple inboxes ever again and its got a beautiful interface. As a designer, usability (which Fluent is chalked full of) and beautiful design are the most important things.
5. UnsubscribeDeals.com
UnsubscribeDeals.com reels you in hookline and sinker with their design and promise to clean out your inbox. The web app lets you unsubscribe from your daily deals or sign up for one email that sends you a custom report of the deals in your area from a wide range of topics that you pre-select. No more Groupons or pesky daily emails clogging up your inbox! The only down fall is that the Unsbuscribe section only has 12 daily sites to remove you from. It would be better if the web app found any emails that you receive daily and let you remove them.
All in all my favorite apps for managing Email Mountain are Rapportive & Fluent. Test out these 5 Email Apps to Improve Productivity & Manage Email Mountain for yourself and let us know what you like the most.
